The Joseph A. McCarthy

Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Joseph A. McCarthy Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to perpetuate the memory and ideals of Joe McCarthy.

Joe was born and raised in South Boston and very proud of his Irish heritage. We created the Joseph A. McCarthy Scholarship ten years ago to honor his memory.

All Massachusetts residents are welcome to apply that plan on attending any accredited college or technical school.  One does not have to be Irish to apply for one of our Scholarships.

To be considered all applicants must write a 500-word (minimum) essay on how Irish Americans contributed to society either nationally or locally (see list to choose topic from in left hand column).
